Tachographs are used to record the driving time, speed, and all activities of the driver of heavy goods vehicles and special vehicles. As part of the Mobility Package, all newly registered vehicles used in cross-border transport must be equipped with smart tachographs of the second version (G2V2) starting August 21, 2023.
