The Mobility Package is a set of regulations adopted by the European Union to regulate the road transport sector in the EU. The aim of the package is to improve working conditions for drivers, ensure fair competition in the transport industry, and increase road safety. For transport companies, the Mobility Package can have both positive and challenging aspects. On the one hand, the new regulations can help ensure fair competition and improve working conditions for drivers. On the other hand, there may be new requirements and restrictions that could affect the organization and costs of transport.

IMPORTANT DATES!
21.08.2023 - Obligation to equip newly registered vehicles (listed in Regulation (EC) No 561/2006) with second-generation smart tachographs (G2V2).
31.12.2024 - Vehicles equipped with first-generation analogue or digital tachographs and used in a Member State other than the Member State of registration must be equipped with second-generation smart tachographs.
19.08.2025 - Mandatory replacement of the first version of the smart tachograph (G2V1) with the second version of the smart tachograph (G2V2) in vehicles operated in a Member State other than the Member State of registration.
01.07.2026 - Vehicles used for the commercial carriage of goods by road in international transport or in cabotage, where the maximum permissible weight including trailer or semi-trailer exceeds 2.5 tonnes, are subject to the provisions of Regulation (EC) No 561/2006 and should therefore be equipped with the latest tachograph .
